Dragon’s Dogma 2 Development Is “Moving Along Well,” Capcom Hoping to Share More “As Soon As Possible”

It’s been over ten years since the release of the action RPG Dragon’s Dogma, and while that’s quite a long gap between a game and its sequel, according to Director Hideaki Itsuno, development of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is “moving along well.”

In this year’s round of Famitsu creator interviews, Itsuno provided an update on the awaited Dragon’s Dogma sequel. Here’s the full quote:

I’m currently immersed in the production of Dragon’s Dogma 2, so much so that I’m losing my sense of what season it is. Things are moving along well, so I hope to further our development progress so that we can share an update with you as soon as possible.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been a long time coming, with the game being first announced during the original game’s 10-year anniversary livestream. We still have yet to see any footage or screenshots from the game, but at least we know that things are proceeding apace.

If there’s anything to go by, Dragon’s Dogma was a solid game in its own right, so we can leave it to Itsuno and Capcom to deliver something just as good for the sequel.
