dying light 2 2023 roadmap

In celebration of Dying Light 2‘s first-year anniversary, Techland announced its plans for this year in a new Dying Light 2 roadmap for 2023 blowout. The roadmap includes update to combat, movement, and a new story expansion via the game’s second DLC.

Here’s a gallery of the roadmap made or easier viewing:

The two anniversary events, titled Bloody Anniversary and Dropkick Weekend, will give players lots to do in the coming weeks. Bloody Anniversary is set to run from January 30 to February 9, whereas Dropkick Weekend will follow from February 2 to 9.

2023 will also see adjustments to Dying Light 2’s combat and movement mechanics. Melee combat is set for a rework, and parkour and traversal methods will see some changes, too. Franchise Director Tymon Smektala also teases a brand-new form of combat to come this year.

If you would like to fight the Infected using other means than melee combat, you should be quite satisfied with one of the additions to Dying Light 2: Stay Human we are currently preparing.

Dying Light 2 is known for being a melee-focused zombie game, so this may be hinting at the possibility of guns as part of a future update. Smektala didn’t mention guns specifically, however, and for all we know, this new form of combat could be entirely different from what we’re used to in the zombie game genre.

Aside from the event announcements, we also learn a bit more about the game’s second DLC, which follows the Bloody Ties DLC last year. This new expansion will be more story-driven in nature and will contain references to the first Dying Light game. The DLC was actually featured in a new YouTube video, which you can find below:

With all the content announced during the game’s first-year anniversary, Dying Light 2 fans will have a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
