EA CEO Says Uncertainty of Call of Duty Franchise’s Future Is a “Tremendous Opportunity” for Battlefield Franchise

While Sony is absolutely not on board Microsoft acquiring Activision-Blizzard due to how this might make the Call of Duty franchise exclusive to Xbox console platforms, one person that isn’t losing sleep over it is EA CEO Andrew Wilson, as he thinks this will be good for the Battlefield franchise.

Speaking in a Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology talk, Wilson claims that the uncertainty of Call of Duty’s future and which platforms it will be available on could benefit Battlefield, as it’s a platform agnostic game.

And in a world where there may be questions over the future of Call of Duty and what platforms that might be on or might not be on, being platform agnostic and completely cross-platform with Battlefield, I think is a tremendous opportunity. – Andrew Wilson, EA CEO

Given how the last two Battlefield games (Battlefield V, Battlefield 2042) didn’t exactly perform up to the publisher’s expectations, I’d say the BF franchise can use all the help it can get.

Do you agree that Call of Duty being Xbox exclusive will help sales of Battlefield? Or will PlayStation gamers just not care about it? Leave your thoughts down in the comments.

First, MS will never make CoD Xbox exclusive simply because they would be missing out on so much money. Maybe Xbox would get exclusive perks like early access and skins/cosmetics. And secondly, Battlefield is doing bad because they launched an incomplete and untested/glitchy game without the “core” BF experience like classes and basic components like a scoreboard, not because CoD has a parent company acquisition deal going on.

Yaaaayyy. What a blast from the past. Its the “spurts, spurts, spurts” guy from the TV TV TV worst games console reveal in history.

And that’s it, I really do not care what EA is selling.

This guy needs to be fired. He’s a complete joke and will get one helluva reality check when the next battlefield comes out and people roast it because it will be more like COD and Fortnite. He’s banking on the fact that people will only play BF on PlayStation because there’s no COD. People play Battlefield because it’s NOT COD.

This guy has no idea wtf he is doing and this clearly shows it. RIP BF.
