Elon Musk Could Technically Be the Best Diablo 4 Player in the World After Breaking Tier 150 Speedrun Record
Elon Musk has achieved yet another unexpected feat, this time in Diablo 4, Blizzard Entertainment’s renowned hack-and-slash RPG. Known for his fascination with the game, Musk has shattered a record in one of its most grueling challenges.
Specifically, the billionaire completed Tier 150 of the Pit in an astonishing 1 minute and 52 seconds, beating the previous record of 1 minute and 59 seconds. If officially validated, this achievement will place him at the top of the global rankings. Earlier this month, during an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Musk revealed he was already ranked among the top 20 players worldwide. Now, this latest milestone could elevate him to the number one spot.
So many life lessons to be learned from speedrunning video games on max difficulty. Teaches you to see the matrix, rather than simply exist in the matrix.

Following his success, Musk shared the news on X/Twitter, referencing the Matrix movies: “So many life lessons to be learned from speedrunning video games on max difficulty. Teaches you to see the matrix, rather than simply exist in the matrix.” He jokingly suggested that Blizzard should crown him “salesperson of the month” for the attention his gaming achievements have brought to Diablo 4.
To complete Tier 150 in record time, Musk used Quill Volley Spiritborn build—introduced with the Vessel of Hatred expansion. This build takes advantage of a bug that allows for quadrillions of damage in a brief window. While this exploit has been widely adopted by players, Blizzard Entertainment has opted not to patch it until Diablo 4’s seventh season, citing feedback from a player survey conducted in October.
Critics, however, have downplayed Elon Musk’s performance, suggesting he relied on costly in-game gear (thanks to his wealth). For instance, X/Twitter user Niko pointed out similar concerns. Still, breaking a record requires significant game knowledge, dedicated training, and sharp reflexes. Musk has already proven his expertise in Diablo 4 with an impressive feat in the Zir Slaughterhouse.
