Fallout 76 Burning Springs Update Adds Walton Goggins as The Ghoul

Fallout 76 is heading to Ohio this December with a new major update called “Burning Springs.” While it’s being touted as the game’s biggest update ever, it also happens to be releasing around the time of the premiere of Amazon’s Fallout Season 2.

That’s not by coincidence either, as The Ghoul, played by Walton Goggins in the Fallout show, is coming to the game.

As confirmed in yesterday’s Inside the Vault dev chat for Fallout 76, the next major update, Burning Springs, arrives this December. This brand-new region that is being added to the northwest part of Appalachia’s map will be inspired by both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. It’ll feature a desert, as well as Deathclaws and raiders themed after the environment. A new story chapter and public events are also coming, along with other activities and content.

But the biggest surprise is a new bounty hunting activity that is run by none other than The Ghoul (voiced by Walton Goggins) from Amazon’s Fallout live-action show. That’s right, Fallout 76 and the Fallout show are crossing over. But don’t expect any of the other characters from the show to make an appearance, at least the normal human ones, as Fallout 76 is a prequel, taking place nearly 200 years before the show itself, and even 60 years before the very first Fallout game.

It’s still a pretty awesome crossover, and we’re excited to see more of Walton’s Ghoul character when he arrives in the Burning Springs update for Fallout 76 this December, alongside Season 2 of Amazon’s Fallout. PC players can get an early look at the update as it’s currently available in the public test servers.

As always, once the update is released, you can expect it here on MP1st.
