Fans Believe They Found the Perfect Actor to Play Max Payne
[summaraize]
This past Friday, we saw the theatrical release of NOVOCAINE, an American action comedy film directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen starring Jack Quaid (The Boys) & Amber Midthunder (Prey).
With reviews out and new promotional shots available online, it seems that many Max Payne fans have noticed Jack Quaid’s looks, as one of the shots feels like it’s ripped straight from a Max Payne video game.
Jack Quaid Looks A Little Like Sam Lake, Creator and Face Model for Max Payne

Although the likelihood of us ever getting another Max Payne movie after the 2008 live-action bomb is slim, it seems that if there ever were talks of a new movie, or even a new game, fans have already begun deciding who should be cast as Max Payne. This past week, NOVOCAINE was released in theatres. Although the film has little, if any, resemblance to Max Payne, it seems one of its stars, Jack Quaid, is already being brought up as a name to potentially star as the New York City police detective turned vigilante. The big reason? Well, it seems the movie, intentionally or unintentionally, makes a pretty clear reference to Max Payne, as a scene with Quaid’s character looks strikingly similar to Payne himself.
Even I can’t help but notice the resemblance between the actor and the game character, as they both feature a slightly angular face with a strong, defined jawline. Since Max Payne’s face model is that of Sam Lake, it means that Jack Quaid also looks a bit like Lake himself. Whether or not Jack has the acting chops to pull off a live-action Max Payne is another question, though if Remedy ever needed someone new to be the face model for the character other than Sam Lake, I think Jack Quaid would be a perfect fit.
When it comes to the games, Max Payne 1 and 2 Remakes are currently being developed at Remedy Entertainment, with a target release window 2026.

Oh yeah, just saw Novacaine and I could see Jack as Max. It’d be better than Marky Mark…
For sure it’ll be better than Marky Mark. LOL!
