Just the other day, Remedy Entertainment published its latest quarterly earnings report, in which the company mentioned that Alan Wake 2 has now sold two million units and started accruing royalties. However, what’s odd about this is that the company’s website also has an analyst report listed, which maps out the release dates of the studio’s upcoming games.

It mentions the target release dates for Alan Wake 3, Control 2, and the Max Payne remake.

Alan Wake 3 Might Not Be Available Until 2029

The analyst report from Remedy’s website has the image above (thanks, Okami!) and lists the release windows for the following games:

  • Max Payne 1&2 Remake – 2026
  • Control 2 – 2027
  • Alan Wake 3 – 2029
  • Control 3 – 2030

While these could all be analyst predictions, what’s odd is that Remedy has it on its website. If this is true, then this means we are getting FBC: Firebreak this year, Max Payne 1&2 Remake in 2026, and basically a Remedy Entertainment product every year until 2030. While nothing is mentioned for 2028, Control 2’s DLCs should fill that void (nothing has been announced, but you just know that game will feature story expansions given Remedy’s M.O.)

If this list is accurate, then we won’t be getting Alan Wake 3 until at least four more years. Mind you, it’s not as long as the wait from Alan Wake 1 to the sequel, but I wasn’t counting on that long of a wait to know what happens next.

Take note that nothing has been confirmed, and this could be a slight mixup on Remedy’s end. We’ve reached to the studio for a statement about this and will update the article if we get anything back.

If you’ve yet to play Alan Wake 2, we suggest remedying that immediately. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t played the first game, Remedy’s horror sequel is just that good of a game. Our review of it was very glowing where we said, “It’s one of the greatest survival horror games ever made, this shouldn’t be skipped. A fantastic example of how different types of media can crossover and create a very special outcome, it was absolutely worth the wait for Alan Wake to come up with a plan to escape the Dark Place and write an outstanding story about it for us to read, watch, play, and above all, enjoy.”
