One of the largest international trade fair video game events, Gamescom 2021, will remain a digital experience for fans worldwide from August 25 to August 29. The virtual, week-long event will be free of charge and streamed on Gamescom’s social media platforms and website.

A calendar of events has already been published on their website:Gamescom 2021 Digital

From their experience last year, organizers have become fully prepared for the coming event while adding new concepts, such as hybrid formats, for the millions of expected viewers.

For digital gamescom 2021, our focus is to provide even more games and reach as well as a heightened community atmosphere. – Felix Falk, Managing Director of game

Gamescom 2021 will include a “new concept called Gamescom Epix,” according to Falk. The concept is planned to create a quest for the community using social media to create an immersive event with audience members before the official opening. Other new elements include a redesigned content hub.

Event partner, devcom, will continue to participate with an expanded online program for “Indie meet Investors and Publishers” and other pitching events. Geof Keighley will also be back for Opening Night Live, after its success of generating around two million views.

Last year, Gamescom 2020 saw over 50 million unique users from 180 counties on their first-ever digital run.
