While it was rumored before per the PlayStation Network’s store listing, it’s now confirmed that Gotham Knights will feature four-player co-op! Unfortunately, this won’t be available for the game’s main campaign, and will instead be for a new mode incoming at a later date.
Posted by the official Gotham Knights Instagram page is the confirmation of the Gotham Knights four-player co-op mode called “Heroic Assault,” and it’s due for release on November 29 as a free update!

Outside of that, the studio also revealed more details about it via the game’s newly launched FAQ page! In it, it states that Heroic Assault won’t be part of the main story campaign, and a brief description of the mode was shared too.

A: Yes. Gotham Knights can be played with a friend via the two-player online cooperative (co-op) mode or enjoyed solo at launch. On November 29, 2022, the game will also add Heroic Assault, a standalone mode supporting up to four players in online co-op.Q: What is Heroic Assault mode?

From the sound of it, this seems like Gotham Knights’ endgame gameplay loop. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be a member of the Bat-Family tearing enemies around and just kicking ass, right?
Gotham Knights will be released this October 21 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
