GTA 6 Will Not Be Delayed Again, According to Take-Two CEO, Calls GTA Most Valuable Entertainment IP Ever
While Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently planned to release on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, there were rumors and speculation about another possible delay.
However, that now seems very unlikely, as Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said the game is already around 18 months behind its original schedule and made it clear that the current release date is not expected to change.
During a podcast hosted by David Senra, Zelnick reconfirmed the release date and dismissed the rumors about another delay.
Take-Two Shuts Down New GTA 6 Delay Rumors

When questioned by the interviewer, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick clearly explained that there is no uncertainty inside the company and that Rockstar and Take-Two know GTA 6 is planned to launch on November 19.
Talking about the previous delays of GTA 6, the Take-Two boss said “we’re about 18 months behind the original date,” as the game was delayed twice. It was first planned for a Fall 2025 launch, then moved to May 26, before being pushed back again to its current confirmed release date of November 19.
Nonetheless, this will clearly give fans more confidence about the game’s release, but many important details are still missing, including its final price. As the game’s marketing already seems to have started, with Sony sending emails to PS4 users encouraging them to upgrade to PS5 to play GTA 6, those details will likely be revealed soon as well.
During the same discussion, Zelnick also spoke about the scale of the GTA franchise compared to other major entertainment brands around the world. While explaining that it is difficult to directly compare revenues between franchises like Mario Kart and Call of Duty because different metrics are used, he said he believes GTA is the most valuable entertainment IP ever created in terms of intellectual property value.
In related news, Take-Two CEO has also openly admitted to being “scared” of the massive expectations surrounding GTA 6, stating that the pressure for this release is “multiplied by a billion.”
