Helldivers 2 Release Date Revealed for Feb. 8, 2024! New Gameplay Trailer Features Combat

It’s been almost a decade since Helldivers first dropped into our atmosphere, and we’ve finally learned when we can expect the sequel. The Helldivers 2 release date was announced to be February 8, 2024 in today’s State of Play.

The gameplay shows an intense 4-player co-op mission against a gigantic bile-spitting arachnid. It’s as full of explosions, violence, and death as you might imagine.

All in all, the shift to a third person perspective looks to be treating the game well. Being right down in the action gets the player much more immersed in what’s happening on-screen. It feels slightly reminiscent of an Earth Defense Force game, though hopefully it’s a little less clunky.

Sony also announced that pre-orders for the game will be open starting on September 22.
