At Least One More Map Remake In Store For COD: Advanced Warfare, Says Studio Head

Still room in your heart for classic Call of Duty multiplayer maps that have come and gone over the years? It seems Sledgehammer Games’ Studio Head Michael Condrey has fans looking for a little bit of nostalgia covered.

On Twitter, Condrey confirmed that at least one more classic Call of Duty map will be reimagined in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

On Advanced Warfare’s launch, Atlas Gorge, a modern reimagining of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare map Pipeline, was offered to buyers of the game’s Special Editions or Season Pass. It now sits in the in-game store as a standalone download and is currently playable in public matchmaking.

Earlier, in an interview with VG247, Condrey explained that the studio is “taking a look at some opportunities to really highlight the vertical gameplay mechanics in some reimagined franchise favorites moving forward, like we did with Atlas Gorge.”

At the moment, it’s not clear if any future reimagined maps would be included as a part of Advanced Warfare’s DLC packs, as has been the case for previous Call of Duty titles, or if it might be offered as a standalone addition. Advanced Warfare’s first digital add-on, the Havoc Map Pack, was comprised of totally original maps.

Details on Advanced Warfare’s second map pack are expected following the conclusion of the Call of Duty Championship 2015 later this March.

What’s your take on reimagined maps in current Call of Duty titles? If you’re for it, what map are you itching to see be remade in Advanced Warfare?

Thanks, CharlieIntel
