Marvel’s Avengers Gameplay Debut Set for July 18 at SDCC, but Will Be for Attendees Only

avengers gameplay debut

When Square Enix unveiled Marvel’s Avengers at this year’s E3, there was a private, behind closed doors gameplay demo that was shown to press attendees that unfortunately, wasn’t made public (we catch a glimpse of it via a leak). Now for those looking forward to actual gameplay, you’ll be able to catch the Marvel’s Avengers gameplay debut next week — provided you’re attending the San Diego Comic-Con, and you’re able to attend the Marvel’s Avengers panel.

In a press release, Square Enix announced the publisher’s plans for this July 18, at the San Diego Comic-Con. And as you can guess, the chief draw here is the Avengers gameplay debut!

Panels:

  • Marvel’s Avengers Panel (Thursday, July 18, 1:30 pm in Hall H): Join Shaun Escayg, Creative Director at Crystal Dynamics, and the performance cast of Marvel’s Avengers for a special presentation that will include new information and the first public gameplay reveal for Hall H attendees only.
  • Life is Strange™ Panel (Saturday, July 20, 12:30 pm, in Room 5AB): Join Raoul Barbet, Co-Creative Director and Jean-Luc Cano, Lead Writer of Life is Strange & Life is Strange 2, for an in-depth look at the genesis of Life is Strange 2. Experience the backstory behind the narrative, discover behind-the-scenes secrets and see an exclusive glimpse of the next chapter.

It’s unknown yet whether we’ll get a livestream or if Square Enix will release a trailer after the panel to let us non-attendees see it. Given there’s no mention of that at all, I’d hazard a guess that we won’t see it in an official capacity at the event. But then again, there’s always leaks, though.

Aside from the panels, Square Enix will also have autograph sessions, photo ops and giveaways at SDCC, so if you’re attending, make sure to check them out.
