Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack Blends Three Different Styles

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Get ready to indulge in some 80’s inspired pop music along with a dose of an epic orchestra score and original rock tunes, as Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy blends three different music styles for its awesome score and soundtrack!

According to a behind-the-scenes commentary by Eidos-Montreal Senior Audio Director Steve Szczepkowski, the team focused on fusing three different elements to create a unique experience as well as influence a gameplay mechanic that will no doubt get players excited.

“Music is intrinsic to the Guardians’ franchise, and we wanted to make it focal to the gameplay experience. The soundtrack is infused in the DNA of the game, and our use of it goes far beyond usual expectations. Whether it’s powering up combat in the Huddle or bringing Star-Lord’s favourite band to life, every element was carefully woven into the lore to enhance the story of this rock and roll band of misfits.”

Using a unique Huddle feature to select music during the game, Star-Lord can sift through an awesome selection of music in the GOTG game — including 80’s music featuring licensed tracks from Iron Maiden, KISS, and New Kids on the Block to name a few, as well as listening to unique score composed by BAFTA-nominated composed Richard Jacques, as well as bringing in a brand new rock band called Star-Lord itself! Now that’s going to be a soundtrack worth looking forward to!
