With Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater officially announced, more information regarding the remake has come to light. In particular, the game is set up to “faithfully reproduce” the original Metal Gear Solid 3 game from back in 2004 while also adding in “new elements” to it.

The official Metal Gear Twitter account shared this information on the platform:

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER will faithfully reproduce the story and game design of MGS3, whilst adding new elements too. #MetalGearSolid #MGSDelta #MG35th

While the tweet never really delved into what “new elements” actually meant, it’s likely referring to quality of life features and other systems that don’t significantly impact the game’s story.

One other detail that many Metal Gear fans may be happy to learn is that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will feature the same voice actors from the original game. Here’s the full quote taken from an official Konami article:

The remake will star the original voice characters, rich storyline and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound.

This means that we can expect actors such as David Hayter (Naked Snake) and Jim Piddock (Major Zero) to reprise their roles. We aren’t sure if all of the main cast will return for MGS Delta, but it’ll be interesting to hear their voices once again in a modern Metal Gear game.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has no release date just yet, though the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection bundle is set to launch this Autumn 2023.
