It seems like Microsoft won’t go down without a fight. Just after the FTC filed a lawsuit against Microsoft for their acquisition attempt of Activision Blizzard, the tech giant responded by claiming they have confidence in their case going to court. This was Vice Chair Brad Smith’s statement to The Verge:

We have been committed since Day One to addressing competition concerns, including by offering earlier this week proposed concessions to the FTC. While we believed in giving peace a chance, we have complete confidence in our case and welcome the opportunity to present our case in court.

For those who haven’t caught up with the whole debacle, Microsoft made a deal to merge with Activision Blizzard. This was supposedly going to bring the Call of Duty franchise to Nintendo, among other things. While the move was meant to “expand competition and create more opportunities for gamers and game developers,” it looks like the FTC doesn’t share that vision with Microsoft.
