Modern Warfare 2 FOV Slider and In-Game Connection Meter Confirmed for Consoles

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta is now live for those with early access, and is on PS4 and PS5! With that said, we’ve dived into the game’s settings, and can confirm that there is a Modern Warfare 2 FOV (field of view) slider in the game!

In addition to that, we’ve also taken a screenshot of the graphics settings available in the beta, which we’re assuming will also be available in the retail release build.

As you can see, the Modern Warfare 2 graphics settings are a lot more extensive than the previous Modern Warfare game released in 2019. We now have “on-demand texture streaming,” “allocated texture cache size” and more.

In addition to that, there is now also an in-game connection meter available! While you can see your ping in Modern Warfare 2019, you had to do it in the menus, which leaves you open to be mowed down while you’re checking it (or you can also check it while respawning and such, too). However, in Modern Warfare 2, you can now see it in the match.

Here’s how to turn on the Modern Warfare 2 connection meter:

  • Go to options, scroll down until you see “Interface”
  • Go to “Interface,” scroll down and you’ll see a Connection Meter on/off button.
  • Click it on, and that’s it!

Unfortunately, for those hoping it would show up as the meter beside your username in the in-game scoreboard, that’s not the case. Instead, you’ll see appear in your HUD (of sorts). Here’s what it’ll look like in-game:

After playing with this on, I can say it’s not really distracting or anything, and the pros outweigh the cons (at least to me).

Stay tuned to our Modern Warfare 2 beta impressions hitting the site soon.
