It looks like Activision has struck gold once again with the Call of Duty franchise, and this time, it’s breaking new records. According to Barron’s source familiar with the situation, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which launched on October 28, is now the fastest-selling Call of Duty game of all-time!
The report states that based on sales from the game’s opening weekend, the franchise has raked in over $600 million already, which is said to be comparable to opening box office figures associated with the biggest Marvel Avengers films. If that wasn’t enough, Sony also touted some of the game’s impressive launch numbers too, as the company also announced that Modern Warfare 2 is now the biggest PlayStation Store launch of all-time for a Call of Duty game (includes pre-orders and day-one sales).
