Monster Hunter Rise on PlayStation and Xbox Confirmed to Be Digital-Only

Monster Hunter Rise

While Capcom recently announced that Monster Hunter Rise would be coming to Xbox and PlayStation consoles, the release is planned to be digital-only.

This was confirmed by Capcom to Gematsu:

The lack of a physical edition for MH Rise means that players won’t be able to share their own copies of the game with friends. This also means that you can only get the game via the consoles’ respective online stores.

You can pick up your digital copy of Monster Hunter Rise on January 20 next year on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5. The game will also be available on the Game Pass, so you can pick it up if you’re subscribed to the pass on Xbox or PC.

As mentioned earlier, the massive Sunbreak expansion won’t be arriving alongside the base game until sometime in Spring 2023.
