Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms

Prepare to see the battle between Earthrealm and Outworld continue, as Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms animated movie arrives this summer — continuing the story of Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge and bringing more blood and battles ahead!

While the plot has not been revealed for the animated movie sequel, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the voice cast of Scorpion’s Revenge are returning, as well as adding new cast members to the line-up.

The new film reunites much of the Scorpion’s Revenge team, including actors Jordan Rodrigues as Liu Kang, Patrick Seitz as Scorpion & Hanzo Hasashi, Artt Butler as Shang Tsung & Cyrax, Robin Atkin Downes as Shinnok & Reiko, Dave B. Mitchell as Raiden, Kintaro & Sektor; Ikè Amadi as Jax Briggs & One Being; Grey Griffin as Kitana, Satoshi Hasashi & Mileena; and Fred Tatasciore as Shao Kahn.

New castmembers include Matthew Mercer as Stryker & Smoke; Bayardo De Murguia as Sub-Zero/Kuai Liang; Matt Yang King as Kung Lao; Paul Nakauchi as Lin Kuei Grandmaster; Emily O’Brien as Jade; and Debra Wilson as D’Vorah.

Scorpion’s Revenge filmmakers behind the project include director Ethan Spaulding, screenwriter Jeremy Adams, producers Rick Morales and Jim Krieg, executive producer Sam Register and creative consultant Ed Boon, who co-created the popular video game with John Tobias.

Released last year to praise from fans who saw it, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge details the origins of the famous Shirai Ryu warrior turned hell spectre, as well the events of the first Mortal Kombat film where Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, and Liu Kang are chosen to represent Earthrealm against Outworld.

In other Mortal Kombat news, fans really want a remaster of the old co-op game Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks.

Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms will be released some time in 2021.
