NetherRealm Won’t Announce Anything at The Game Awards

It doesn’t look like The Game Awards this December 8 will have any news on NetherRealm Studios’ latest project.

In a tweet from Chief Creative Officer Ed Boon, he mentions how fans had expectations for an announcement this year after pulling off a similar stunt four years ago.

As co-creator of the Mortal Kombat and Injustice series, Ed has made quite a few announcements on both franchises over the years. In fact, he recently mentioned that NetherRealm was working on either Mortal Kombat 12 or Injustice 3 in a Twitter thread. So while Ed and the team are not going to release any news just yet, fans at least know they’re working on a fighting game.

Even if you may be a little bummed out about Ed Boon’s disclaimer, you may still want to consider giving The Game Awards a watch this December 8. It will feature many prominent AAA titles and celebrate this year in gaming. Plus, there will be game reveals and announcements to look forward to during the show, so you wouldn’t want to miss out on it.
