What’s Inside the Box:

In case you didn’t notice it, the Series X will ship with a 2.1 HDMI (ultra high speed) cable, while the Series S will come bundled with a 1.4 HDMI (high speed) one. Mind, it’s expected given the Series S is signficantly cheaper than the Series X. For those who don’t know about HDMI, they come in standard, high speed, premium, and ultra. All except the standard support 4K, though only premium and ultra support HDR (and 1.4b newer), with ultra supporting higher speeds and resolution. Its important to note that Microsoft may still be in the process of updating the sheet. This isn’t to say that the Series S doesn’t support HDR as it’s port are 2.1 ready. Also chances are that 1.4 HDMI is of the newer one with HDR support.

Anothet interesting confirmation from the given specs is that both consoles will feature support for dual band wifi, though not for WiFi 6 as many had speculated.

Both consoles will be out this November 10, with pre-orders starting later this month on September 22.

Make sure to check out gameplay of Gears 5 multiplayer running at 120 frames per second on the Xbox Series S here! Also check out this size comparison images of the two consoles compared to the other ones too.

Pure and utter disaster. I’m hoping developers are lining up to make exclusives for PS5 because that weak series s is going to do some serious holding back on gaming by the time 2024 rolls around.

N4G drone. Don’t mind those idiots, they don’t have standards. They look for a logo and pretend they do.

Another fanboy parrot clearly does not know what he is saying. They showed the XSS running Gears at 120 FPS looks good to me. The CPU in the XSS technically faster than the CPU in the PS5. Games won’t be look as good as XSX or PS5 but the next generation load times, AI and game physics will be the same, for some that’s. How is that holding back gaming?

He’s unaware of how suboptimal computers are out there, many of which games are designed with them in mind. Yet a console is holding everything back, boy. To be that naive. Just goes to show how little he understands of this industry. Being a walking advertisement for Spiderman isn’t a dead giveaway either. Who doesn’t love a game you can play once… And probably never enjoy again thanks to shallow game design.

You fucktard, even the Devs have complained about the Series S’ weak specs. C’mon at least pretend to be intelligent.

WAAAHAAAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAAHHAHAAHAH funny guy this one LOL. Series S will hold back all multiplat games, but thanks to the series S the ps5 will get a ton of exclusives now, and many more timed exclusives cus you know optimizing for the series s, series x, xbox one, xbox one x, xbox one s all at the same time is going to take a LOT of time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

so do lower powered PC’s hold back the higher powered ones? and the PS5 is a lot weaker than the Series X so will it hold back the Series X

Please don’t be stupid. The PS5 isn’t “a lot weaker” than the Series X. I might as well just say the Series X is a lot weaker than the PS5 due to its slower SSD.

Also, even PC devs have to contend with *minimum specs* and supporting too slow of a system will hold them back. Xbox series S will hold back the Series X. Halo Infinite was proof of what you can expect in the next few years.

What’s impressive is the value. For the casual consumer either unit can be great, especially with that finance deal. Really just depends on your TV and how often you play. I get everything regardless since I’m mostly a PC player these days, but a console companion to share subs with and keep my games consolidated isn’t a bad idea. I prefer to own my games but I’d otherwise try a few things I wouldn’t with gamepass. Just waiting for Wednesday to see how the two Sony units will price out. Then a likely Xbox event in the coming weeks. All of that with new graphics cards around the corner. Decent time to go PC for a lot of people, considering the lack of launch titles.

There is no such thing as a hdmi 1.4 cable. As long as it does 18gbps it will support up to 4K 60fps HDR or in the series S case 1440p 120hz HDR.

It’s called 8k …cable…I have it…very few around… amazon buy…forget the 1.4 and all that jazz…that’s a compliance for decoding…48 gig cable…not the compliance you need…all cables not created equal…although it will be 2.1…HDR did not play at full capacity and play HDR 10…till I got this cable at 120hz refresh…but will need the series x to play blu ray at this rate…no standalone can do that yet…tech is a science…do your homework.
