Nintendo Direct February 2022 Recap

Nintendo held its first Nintendo Direct for 2022, and suffice to say, it was a banger. If you happened to miss out on the direct, worry not as we’ve prepared a full Nintendo Direct February 2022 summary of everything that was revealed today.

For you Nintendo fans out there wondering what Nintendo has in stored for the Nintendo Switch this year, you’ll be glad to know that the company made a slate of announcements during today’s direct showcase. While big titles like Breath of the Wild 2, Silksong, and Metroid 4 were absent, Nintendo did have quite a bit of big surprises. From new DLC, to new games, down below, you’ll find a full recap of February 2022 Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo Direct Recap for February 2022:

  • Nintendo sold lots of copies of Wii Sports several years ago, but now we are getting Nintendo Switch Sports. You can play games like tennis, bowling and more. The game will be released on April 29, 2022.
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is getting new a DLC pass with 48 new race tracks planned. The first batch of tracks will be released on March 18, 2022.
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses is arriving June 24, 2022.
  • Advance Wars 1+2: Re-boot Camp – A remake compilation of the two Advance Wars games from the GBA era that is releasing on April 8, 2022.
  • No Man’s Sky is coming to the Nintendo Switch. No release date is announced, but a 2022 window is promised.
  • Mario Strikers Battle League is a new 5v5 soccer game. There is even 8 player co-op included too. You can play this on June 10, 2022.
  • A new trailer for Splatoon 3 debuted, though no release date other than a 2022 window.
  • A remake of Front Mission called Front Mission 1st is coming to the Switch very soon.
  • Coming out later this year is an interesting game called Disney Speedstorm. It’s a free-to-play racer and it includes cross-platform online play and more.
  • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Assassin’s Creed Ezio Collection are out later this year.
  • SD Gundam Battle Alliance is out sometime later this year and it includes online multiplayer!
  • A remaster of Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is out for Nintendo Switch on April 7, 2022.
  • Kirby and the Forgotten Land got a crazy new trailer that shows off an interesting “Mouthful Mode”. Kirby can even eat a car in this game!
  • For the first time on Nintendo consoles, MLB The Show 22 will be out for Nintendo Switch. You can even play using the Joy-cons.
  • The Kingdom Hearts games will be playable very soon on Nintendo Switch. These are playable via the cloud.
  • The PSOne’s and PS2’s Klonoa games are coming to Nintendo Switch. The game is called Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series.
  • The first two Portal games are releasing on the Switch and it includes split-screen and co-op features.
  • A game called Live a Live is out July 22, 2022, and it’s a JRPG.
  • Taiko no Tatsujin is launching later this year with 76 songs. There will even be music from The Legend of Zelda series.
  • New DLC is coming out for Cuphead. The expansion is out on June 30, 2022.
  • A free update featuring some new modes is coming to Metroid Dread. One is out today, while another free update is coming in April.
  • The first two Earthbound games are playable today!
  • The video conference ended with the announcement of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The game is out September 2022 and the new trailer looks awesome.
