Nintendo Recruiting for “Playtest Program” to Test Out New Switch Online Features
While the Nintendo Switch is one of the best-selling consoles of all-time, its online component is a bit lacking compared to Xbox and PlayStation’s. Not one to rest on their laurels, the company is now conducting a “Playtest Program” where new Switch online features will be tested.
Here’s the announcement:
We will perform a test called Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program related to a new feature for the Nintendo Switch Online service offered for the Nintendo Switch™ system.
We will recruit people to participate in this test from customers who have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.
Customers will need to download exclusive software to their own Nintendo Switch system in order to participate.
Please review the application guidelines below before applying.
Interested parties can apply here and the registration period starts tomorrow, October 10 and will last until October 15. As for the playtest period, expect it to run from October 23 to November 5.
Of course, whatever it is people test, chances are, it’ll be for the Switch’s successor which we’re calling Switch 2 for now. While Nintendo hasn’t made any announcements for it yet, the latest rumor states that its development is complete, and it’ll be released sometime in March or April 2025.
