Nintendo constantly aims to improve the functionality of its systems and services in order to provide the easiest, most user-friendly experience possible. As a part of these efforts, we are making Nintendo Switch system updates available for download via the Internet.

Ver. 18.0.1 (Released April 22, 2024)

  • Fixed an issue where some wireless access points cannot be found when setting up a new wireless network.
    • If you’re unable to update to Version 18.0.1 because of the issue, temporarily change the security settings for your wireless network to use only “WPA2 (AES)” so you can connect wirelessly to download and install the system update.
    • After updating to Version 18.0.1, restore your network’s security settings to its previous settings.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.

That’s about it for this system update, and given we’re about to be getting the next Nintendo console soon-ish, we’re not expecting any major system updates for the Switch in the future.

Once Nintendo releases a new system patch, we’ll be sure to let our readers know, so make sure to keep it locked here on MP1st.
