Overwatch 2 Future Content Includes Two New Heroes, New PvP Mode “Clash” Out in 2024

Overwatch 2 future content

At Blizzcon 2023, Blizzard Entertainment unveiled Overwatch 2’s future content, which includes two new heroes and a brand new PvP game mode called “Clash,” slated for release in 2024.

The new Clash game mode closely resembles the ‘Capture the Flag’ mode found in other multiplayer games. It features five capture points scattered across the map, with teams earning points based on the number of captures. Some specifics of the Clash game mode have been outlined below:

  • 5 Capture Points in Total – Placed in a Straight Line on a Mirrored Map.
  • Only One Capture Point is Active.
  • Match Starts with a Capture Point in the Center.
  • Players Capture a Point by Standing on it Uncontested Until it is Fully Captured.
  • Teams must battle for control of the map, either by advancing into the enemy’s area or protecting their own. The winning team is the one that captures all five points or reaches the maximum score.
  • The launch map will be called Hanaoka, which is a reworked version of the original map Hanamura.

In addition to revealing the new game mode, Blizzard also revealed two new heroes, set to join the roster in the upcoming seasons.

First up is Venture, a damage-based hero with a unique ability to burrow underground and emerge for devastating attacks. Whenever players find themselves outnumbered, they can simply burrow underground, becoming completely invulnerable. This gives her a massive advantage over the opposition. Venture joins the team in Season 10, and you can check out some of her gameplay below.

Next up, there’s the support hero codenamed Space Ranger. Regrettably, we have limited information about her at the moment, as she is still in the concept phase. However, you can get a glimpse of her in the video below:

Overwatch 2 future content is looking great, with a new game mode that’s sure to entice the fans, and the upcoming heroes who seem poised to shake up the current meta. Unfortunately, we will have to wait patiently for these additions as they are scheduled for release in 2024.

No need to worry though as Overwatch 2 Season 8 is just around the corner, launching on December 5, featuring a new Tank hero named Mauga, whom you can check out right here.
