Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Overwatch 2‘s Mei has been disabled due to a bug with her Ice Wall ability that can be exploited by players to reach unintended locations. The developers are working to fix the issue as soon as possible and plan to re-enable Mei with the November 15 patch.

Mei’s Ice Wall ability allows her to raise an ice structure both perpendicular and parallel to the player character which can be used to block attacks and movement, creating powerful choke points. While the ability was present in Mei’s kit in the original Overwatch as well, players have been reporting a number of bugs with the ability in Overwatch 2, ranging from the structure not blocking attacks to game-breaking glitches where players are pushed into inaccessible areas simply by running into the Ice Wall.
Mei is not the first Hero to be temporarily disabled in Overwatch 2 by any means. Torbjorn, Bastion, and even the Junkertown map were all disabled last month due to a variety of heavily disruptive bugs, and were re-enabled on October 25 after Blizzard managed to solve the relevant issues.
Overwatch 2‘s multiplayer is available free-to-play on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
