PlayStation Adds New 5-Star Rating System to PSN Store, Can Only Be Rated If You Own the Game

playstation support

PlayStation has quietly added a new 5-star rating system to the PlayStation Store, allowing players to rate games they own on a scale from one to five stars.

As they state in their tweet, the feature does not work on games you don’t own, ideally to prevent players from leaving negative reviews on games they have a personal vendetta against. This feature is live now (in select regions) on the PS5 store interface. All players have to do is select the  game’s rating to see more information and add their own rating.

As of the time of writing, this feature is not enabled on the PlayStation Store website. It is also currently unclear if this feature is accessible via PS4’s PlayStation Store app or only through the PS5 version.

All in all, this is a great addition to the PS Store. Allowing players to see how other gamers rate games can significantly influence their purchasing decisions. The next step would be to mimic Steam and allow written reviews, but we wouldn’t expect to see that anytime soon.

Speaking of PlayStation, check out the latest PS5 deal, where new buyers can get a free game with their purchase of the PS5. This deal only lasts until October 20, so act fast.

How do you feel about the new rating system?  Let us know in the comments.

The majority of the time when you rate a game it doesn’t even count your rating, more important why are they just now adding a rating system something PS3 and PS4 already have.
