PlayStation to Attend TGS 2024, Returning for the First Time Since 2019
PlayStation announced today that they will be attending TGS 2024, or Tokyo Game Show, this year. This marks the first time that the Sony gaming company will be making an appearance at Japan’s biggest gaming event since 2019, where Hideo Kojima showed off some extended gameplay of Death Stranding.

This news comes by way of the official list of TGS exhibitors, which went live on this morning along with the official visitor website. The document shares the names of hundreds of exhibitors, including mainstays such as Square Enix and Capcom. Chief among these, however, is the appearance of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Sony’s last appearance at TGS was way back in 2019. At that show, the company revealed new gameplay footage of Death Stranding’s home base mechanics, as well as an extended snippet of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. They also shared lots of clips from other prominent titles of that year, including the MediEvil remake for PS4.
Based on everything we’ve seen coming down the pipeline for PlayStation from the latest State of Play, we imagine we might see previews of new seasonal content for Concord, a deeper look into the upcoming Until Dawn remake, and perhaps even some post-launch content for Astro Bot (though we aren’t holding our breath).
Given that most of what Sony’s been showing off lately has been third-party titles, it’s also possible we might see more content from Monster Hunter Wilds or Dynasty Warriors Origins. Of course, these games’ developers will also be making appearances at TGS 2024, so we’re more likely to see reveals from them rather than PlayStation themselves.
If we had our wish, of course, we’d love to see Kojima appear once more with some new information on Death Stranding 2. We know we won’t be seeing his upcoming horror project OD from PlayStation given that the game is being published by Xbox Game Studios, and PhysInt, Kojima’s return to stealth espionage gameplay, is likely too far out to show its face.
We’ll be sure to cover all the biggest news from TGS 2024 when it arrives. The event will run from September 26-29, so be sure to stay tuned in to us here at MP1st to be kept up to date.

Somewhat skeptical about information regarding TGS 2024 at the moment, considering it doesn’t run until the end of September.
