Possible Ghost Recon New Game Announcement Teased for May 9 (Updated)

Ubisoft Sexual Allegations

Update:

Well, it’s confirmed now. This teaser is for a new Ghost Recon game! The official (and verified) Ubisoft Japan Twitter posted a super short teaser and yes, it also points to the May 9 date.

Original Story:

While Ghost Recon Wildlands is still being heavily supported by Ubisoft even if it’s been more than 24 months since it launched, could a new Ghost Recon game announcement not be far off? Earlier this year, we reported on an Easter egg hidden in Ghost Recon Wildlands’ DLC, which hints at something Tom Clancy related.

Could this something be a Ghost Recon new game announcement? It seems highly likely that it is. Broken down by YouTuber coreross (via PCGamesN), there’s even an invitation to an event called Skell Con, which is scheduled for May 9, 2019, and is set at 11:30 PDT/2:30 p.m. EDT. Stating the obvious here, but that seems like a time and date specified by Ubisoft for an impending announcement.

Further adding to the Ghost Recon new game announcement is that the Skell Tech website which is featured on the invitation for May 9 includes a temporary “rating pending” marker by the ESRB, which is usually used by games that just got announced with no firm ESRB rating just yet.

While odds are that this is a new Ghost Recon game given that the Skell Tech company is mentioned in the Ghost Recon Wildlands Fallen Ghosts DLC, this could very well be for another franchise or a new game entirely. Maybe a new Splinter Cell title perhaps? Something connected to Rainbow Six Siege? Your guess is as good as mine at this point.

Stay tuned this May 9 as we’ll get to the bottom of this. Let’s hope all this teasing amounts to something and it’s not just an announcement for another announcement.
