PS4 New Update 13.00 Released
While the PS5 got a chunky system update today, its older brother also received a surprise firmware patch as well. Sony has, without much fanfare, released PS4 update 13.00 on Sept. 17, and this is more than your standard stability console patch.
Understandably, this doesn’t feature any major new features given the console’s life, but there are improvements roled out that should help console users.
PS4 New Update on Sept. 17 Improves Messaging Functionality via Patch 13.00
Here’s what got updated in today’s download:
- We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.
This is also the same update notes for the version 12.50 download, and in other past system updates too. Chances are, this is something players won’t really notice, though it’s one of those things that probably helps messages load faster and whatnot.
We’re not expecting a lot of PS4 system updates in the future, but don’t be surprised to see a few more pop up, since some are released for security vulnerabilities given the PS4’s online scene is still very much active.
For reference, the PS3 even got a new update early this year, which is also for security loopholes more than anything else.
If we get a new PS4 system update, regardless of whether it’s a big or small one, you’ll hear about it here on MP1st.
