Sony’s upcoming mid-gen console, the PS5 Pro, is set to release on November 7, with the official unboxing reportedly scheduled for November 4. However, it seems PlayStation 5 Pro fans won’t have to wait until November 4 to see what’s inside the PS5 Pro box.

The console has already reached multiple content creators and media outlets, and with some retailers stocking the PS5 Pro early, leaks have started to circulate. The latest of these leaks features an unboxing video that seems to be recorded by someone who has access to the unit due to a retail outlet, giving fans an early look at what’s inside without waiting for the official unboxing.

In a leaked video from a German user unboxing the console in-store, the box contents include a traditional white controller, three main cables (an HDMI cable, a Type-C charger for the controller), and a power cord, all similar to the original PS5 layout.

Upon removing the PS5 Pro’s cover, the console appears noticeably smaller and lighter than expected, while the design remains very similar at the back, featuring the same power supply, network, and USB ports as the original PS5.

Another detail that has caught attention is the lack of an 8K label on the PS5 Pro box, which has raised some questions. This likely won’t be a concern for most gamers, as many games don’t support 8K yet, and 8K TVs are still rare in the market. Still, the missing label has come as a surprise to some.

Additionally, the PS5 Pro appears to have a slot to access the CMOS battery, a handy upgrade for repairability. This small battery powers the CMOS chip, which stores essential system information like the date, time, and hardware settings.

The video also shows that the device’s right-side cover can be removed easily to insert the external disc reader, much like the original PS5. Despite the addition of the disc reader, the device still appears noticeably thinner. However, it’s worth noting that covers for the PS5 Slim will not be compatible with the PS5 Pro, a compatibility issue that may disappoint users who hope for interchangeable plates across models.

Fans can expect early reviews and first impressions of the PS5 Pro to arrive just a day before its release, with reviews set to drop on November 6. As launch day approaches, even more leaks and details are likely to surface.
