Report: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Map List Uncovered by Data Miners, Classic Maps Hinted

next modern warfare patch

To no one’s surprise, PC Data miners have peeked into the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC beta client giving us full details on the possible maps that will appear, including some classic fan favorites such as Rust from Modern Warfare 2.

Responding to credible Call of Duty leaker, PC Data Miner and Twitter User DontBodyYaself posted an image of a memory dump from the files of Modern Warfare, confirming some of the maps in the game.

Note that obviously all these maps won’t make it into the game, and it’s likely some are left over names/code as suggested by data miners. Interesting enough we can see a few classic maps such as Terminal, Rust, and Shipment. There may be some truth to this at least as an image was found within the files of Rust’s map loading screen, which you can find below.

We also reported last week of the Dead Man’s Switch Perk, which also happened to showcase a new map that isn’t present in the beta. You can read up on that here: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Dead Man’s Switch Perk First Look Again, the map list isn’t 100% accurate as often times developers will leave old code in there and even port content from previous games.

In fact it’s noted by multiple data miners that there is some coding from Infinity Ward’s previous game, Infinite Warfare. It’s also been suggested that some of these maps aren’t actually full fledged maps but instead tied to the rumored Battle Royale mode. It has been suggested that the map titled Gulag is actually a location in Battle Royale that players are sent to after dying to fight it out with other players, though this is according to the same data miner listed above.

Take this list with a grain of salt even though it is from the game’s file. If it does turn out to include them all, this will no doubt be the biggest amount of maps to launch for a Call of Duty title. We suspect though that some of these will be DLC, which will be free anyway.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 25. Be on the lookout for our beta impressions piece that’ll be dropping real soon. In the meantime, continue enjoying the open beta!
