Report: Cheaper Xbox Series Storage Cards Made by Western Digital Surfaces Online

Cheaper Xbox Series Storage Cards

If you’re looking for a cheaper way to upgrade your Xbox Series X|S storage space, that might be incoming soon, as a listing for Xbox Series storage cards made by Western Digital has surfaced online. and they’re significantly cheaper than what’s available out there.

The listing comes from Best Buy (now pulled), which shows a Wester Digital 1TB expansion card for the Xbox Series X|S for $179.99, and is the first time an Xbox expandable storage card not made by Seagate has surfaced. For reference, the Seagate storage cards for the Xbox Series are priced at $219.99 for 1TB, and there are also 512GB and 2TB variants as well. Unfortunately, these cards have remained high in price even after all these years.

In comparison to the PS5 which uses an M.2 SSD for expandable storage, there are multiple companies manufacturing it, and we’ve seen 1TB and even 2TB models drop in price significantly since the console’s launch.

Of course, with this not being official, we’ll need to wait for Microsoft to confirm or debunk this. However, if you’re looking to shore up your Xbox Series’ storage space, I suggest waiting if you want to save, since most online retail listings that leak tend to be legit. Don’t be surprised if we hear the official announcement surface soon.
