Report: Crysis Remastered Accidentally Confirmed by Official Crysis Website

crysis remastered

Remember when earlier this week we reported that the Crysis Twitter account came back to life and is seemingly on the verge of announcing something? It seems this tease is not for a new Crysis game, but a Crysis Remastered edition.

This little tidbit was leaked by none other than the official Crysis website today. While the actual splash screen confirming the Crysis Remastered has since been pulled, there’s a screengrab below (via NintendoEverything) that confirms it’s coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.

The art shown above is embedded in the source code of the official website’s cookie page and it even has a note about the remaster.

Crysis Remastered brings new graphic features, high-quality textures, and the CRYENGINE’s native hardware- and API-agnostic ray tracing solution for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and – for the very first time – Nintendo Switch

Based on what’s mentioned above, there won’t be multiplayer of any sort tied to this Crysis remaster, which is a shame. For those who played it, Crysis 2 (and even Crysis 3) brought a few good innovations in multiplayer, and integrated abilities in a logical way.

Given the leak, we’re expecting the official announcement to be made soon.

Are you down for Crysis Remastered or are you hoping multiplayer comes along for the ride? Perhaps this is Crytek’s way of testing the waters for a new entry in the franchise? One can hope.
