Report: Final Fantasy 16 Demo Listing Spotted on PlayStation Store

Final Fantasy 16 demo

Ahead of the full game’s release on June 22, a Final Fantasy 16 demo listing has reportedly appeared on the PlayStation Store, visible only to those who have pre-ordered the game. While the demo is not available to download just yet, its early appearance suggests that it may well go live in the next week as a tie-in with a showcase event.

Square Enix promised early on that a Final Fantasy 16 demo would be available prior to the full release, though an exact date has not yet been revealed. It also recently revealed that the demo would let fans play through the first few hours of the game, which have been showcased in a slew of gameplay videos released recently. Now, a number of fans who have pre-ordered the game are reporting that a demo listing has shown up for them on the PlayStation Store. Reddit user /u/Feisty-Wedding5019 posted a screenshot of the listing onto /r/FFXVI yesterday:

While the existence of such a listing was confirmed by other users in the comments, all those to whom it is visible report that the demo cannot be downloaded. We suspect that the demo might be made available next week during Summer Game Fest or the Final Fantasy 16 pre-launch event on June 11, though this is just speculation on our part. It’s also unlikely that the demo will be exclusive to pre-orders, as Square Enix’s communication on the matter has previously confirmed that it will be a “public demo.”

Final Fantasy 16 will be available June 22, 2023 on the PS5.

I don’t usually play alot of demos, unless the save data from the demo transfers into the base game like the Disgaea demos.
