Rumor: First-Person Mandalorian Game Currently in Development at Respawn Entertainment

mandalorian game

The Mandalorian TV series feels just like a video game in its structure. In the first season especially, the titular character would complete a mission, come back to base, and receive an upgrade. Fitting, then, that a first-person Mandalorian game is being developed by Respawn Entertainment, the team behind the Star Wars Jedi and Titanfall games.

According to sources at Insider Gaming, Respawn is currently hard at work on a first-person Mandalorian game that’s setting out to capture how cool it feels to be a Mandalorian. While it’s currently unclear whether the character you’ll play as is the same as the show’s protagonist, gameplay will reportedly center around bounty hunter work and capturing targets dead or alive to make a quick buck.

The game will feature an emphasis on mobility using the Mandalorian jetpack. Players will be able to dash, leap, and slide boost as they fight, creating a fast-paced gameplay loop that rewards quick movement. Additionally, players will reportedly earn health based on kills in rapid succession, further rewarding frenetic gameplay.

The typical Mandalorian kit will be available to players as well. Wrist rockets, grappling hooks, and a hi-tech visor are all part of the player’s arsenal for maximum bounty-hunting potential. The player will also have access to a variety of weapons from the Star Wars universe.

The game will reportedly feature linear levels that span different planets across the galaxy. While we don’t know any specific planets yet, we imagine it’s likely to see some mainstays like Tatooine or maybe even Mandalore itself. There’s plenty of environmental variety in Star Wars’ solar systems, so we’re sure each world you visit will bring something new to the table.

There’s currently no word on when this game is expected to release, but we’re looking forward to it. We’ll be sure to update our readers as soon as we get an official announcement. Bear in mind, nothing official has been announced, so treat this with a grain of salt for now.
