Sony has reportedly partnered with a South Korean publisher, NCSoft to create a new Horizon MMORPG. The project will be developed solely by NCSoft and is one of the 10 titles live service titles Sony plans to release by 2026.

The report published by MTN suggests that the South Korean developer behind Guild Wars and Blade & Soul series will be helming the untitled Horizon project. A source that is close to both, Sony and NCSoft have reportedly told MTN that the companies have “agreed to pursue a business partnership” where NCSoft will “create new games using Sony’s promising game IPs.”

NCSoft published a statement about the report saying “it is difficult to confirm information about unpublished projects that are currently under development.” (Google Translate).

This upcoming Horizon MMORPG will add to the current projects based on the Horizon franchise, including Horizon Call of the Mountain for the PSVR2, the unannounced Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster for the PS5 that we broke, which also touches on a Horizon multiplayer game that seems to fit the bill with what NCSoft is making.

While the idea of a Horizon MMORPG sounds very intriguing, it’s better not to get your hopes up until anything official is announced by Sony. That said, given what’s been reported on before, don’t be surprised if this is the real deal.
