Report: James Gunn Has “No Plans” to End Arkhamverse With Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Expectations

With a title like “Kill the Justice League,” the upcoming Suicide Squad game might be the perfect send-off for the Arkham universe created by Rocksteady Studios with the launch of Batman: Arkham Asylum when it was released back in 2009. Add in the fact that the studio’s co-founders have left the company, could DC be leaving the Arkhamverse behind?

Apparently that’s not the case, and this was confirmed by DCU head boss James Gunn. In case you didn’t know, Gunn is now the main brain behind anything DC related, which includes gaming. In a now-deleted reply on Instagram, Gunn shot down any talk of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League being the last game in the Rocksteady-built universe.

Mind, the reply has since been deleted, which could mean Gunn misread or posted too hastily without thinking or it could be considered spoiler-ish even. Still, this is the first acknowledgement we have that we might be seeing more games from the same universe in the future. So, does this mean the Suicide Squad won’t be successful in killing off the Justice League, then? Given no one really dies in comics (and in some cases, games), I wouldn’t bet against it.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is launching this February 2 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Thanks, ArkhamsDeadite!

Well, this game is going to end Rocksteady one way or other. Why didn’t the person ask THAT in the tweet?
I mean, who cares about the “Arkhamverse” now, Warner most certainly doesn’t. Its dead in the water since 2020 when this complete trash “forced 4 players at all times” nonsense was revealed to the world.
As others have said, its called Suicide Squad Kill the Rocksteady.
