Report: “Marvel XCOM” Game, Borderlands Spin-Off & More Unannounced Games From 2K Leaked

While Marvel’s Avengers just got released last year, it seems it’s not only Square Enix who’s publishing games under the Marvel banner, as it seems 2K Games will be announcing a new “Marvel XCOM” game soon, along with a few other titles.

This was posted by redditor swine_flu_greg, which in itself might not be news-worthy, but credible people like Jason Schreier, and even VGC have corroborated the story. The leaker claims that 2K has a few gems up its sleeve, and while we don’t know when these titles will be announced, they are big ones! Aside from the XCOM based on the Marvel property, there’s also a Borderlands spin-off on the way, as well as a new action game codenamed “Volt.”

Info on upcoming games from 2K from GamingLeaksAndRumours

Given we’re headed to E3 week, some — or all — of these games could be announced by 2K then. That said, same as with every rumor, treat this one with a grain of salt even if it’s backed up by reliable sources.

Those not familiar with the XCOM franchise, it’s a strategy game first developed by Mythos Games, with Firaxis handling the dev duties since 2008. The latest entry in the franchise is XCOM: Chimera Squad which was released last year on PC.

While there’s no guarantee that all these games will be revealed by 2K, it’s important to note that in the E3 schedule released today, Gearbox (devs behind Borderlands), and 2K’s parent company Take-Two Interactive have presentations planned for the event.
