Report: Red Dead Redemption 2 Multiplayer Battle Royale Mode, First-Person Option & More Leaked

red dead redemption 2 story

It looks like Red Dead Redemption 2 will be joining the “battle royale revolution,” if reports from Trusted Reviews are to be believed. According to TR, “a number of development notes” offer hints at featured missions, mechanics, online multiplayer modes, and the story.

Highlights of the leaks include: a new “Battle Royale” mode for multiplayer, as well as a “Revive and Survive” and “Money Grab” game types; the ability to play both the main campaign and the multiplayer in first-person, with “bespoke animations” available in first-person; and player actions leading “to events unfolding differently depending on which characters you interact with.”

Like with GTA OnlineRed Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer will allow players to roam the open world. However, RDR2 will apparently “provide far more depth.” Players will be able to complete objectives and receive rewards, and tents will be the Red Dead-ified apartments.

The leaked notes also speak of a Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app, which is to launch alongside the game.

The remaining details largely consist of returning features from the original Red Dead Redemption. Expect random encounters, collecting plants and herbs, a wanted level bounty, and the Dead Eye mechanic, to all make a return.

As this is not officially confirmed by Rockstar Games, all of this information should all be taken with a grain of salt.

What do you make of this big Red Dead 2 leak? Like what you hear? Or are you hoping it’s all false? Let me know!

In other Red Dead Redemption 2 news, the game’s release date has been pushed back to October 26, a new story trailer dives deep into the plot, and we included the title in our “5 Must-Play Titles of 2018” video list.
