Xbox Project Helix Could Launch Without a Controller (Update)
There is still a lot of uncertainty around Microsoft’s gaming plans. Recent comments from Asha Sharma even suggest that the original idea behind Xbox Project Helix could change quite a bit to make the console more affordable so more people can buy it.
In the meantime, well-known insider Jez Corden has shared his thoughts on how Microsoft could sell the next Xbox while keeping costs down.
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Corden talked about what might be included in the box of Microsoft’s next-generation console.
Will Xbox Project Helix Launch Without a Controller?

UPDATE: This was pure speculation on Jez Corden’s part (which he also tweeted us about), and we apologize for running it as something that Microsoft was planning for the next-gen Xbox console. We apologize for any confusion this might have caused.
ORIGINAL STORY
At a time when there is growing discussion about Steam Machines and the strong possibility that they will not include a Steam Controller in their standard package, Corden believes Microsoft could do the same with Project Helix in order to reduce costs even further.
He said, “Someone told me that the Steam Machine was going to be shipped without a controller, you know, and I’ve got 10 Xbox controllers lying around. I don’t need the next Xbox to come with a controller, personally. So, I do think that’s going to be a thing that will probably happen to help drive down costs, too.”
According to Corden, the idea makes sense because many players already own multiple Xbox controllers. For those users, getting another one in the box may not be necessary.
On the other hand, there is another side to the discussion. If Microsoft is working on a new Xbox controller, perhaps one with the haptic feedback features that have been rumored for years, selling it separately could end up costing players more money.
Either way, Microsoft’s decision won’t be an easy one.
In other news. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says Xbox must become a sustainable business, admitting that YouTube monetizes Xbox games more than they do.

C’mon, this isn’t a rumor, it’s just one guy saying he thinks something could happen based off of a *different* rumor.
Nothing credible about this at all.
Yep, Updated the story to reflect this.
I can already see, people defending this, saying it’ll cut costs, “butt duh steam machine isn’t coming with a controller”… Oh wait ofc Jez would say this nonsense, damn fanboy
Give me another controller with my console to add to my collection lol. STOP BOOTLICKING CORPOS especially you Jez.
