Shadow of the Colossus Creator Fumito Ueda Announces gen Atlas

It’s been a decade since Shadow of the Colossus/Team ICO developer Fumito Ueda released a game with The Last Guardian for PlayStation platforms in 2016.

That’s changing soon, as gen Atlas has been announced officially at Summer Game Fest.

With this week's Season 2 kick-off for Marathon, Sony is also hoping to rope in new players by running an Open Play Week for the extraction shooter, with progress carrying over if players bought the game.

Fumito Ueda’s Next Project’s Official Title Is gen Atlas

The game is being developed by Project Robot and Ueda’s own gen Design studio. No further details have been shared outside of the reveal trailer, but given Ueda’s history of hits, we can’t not be excited for this.

No release date has been given but it is confirmed for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Epic Games. Don’t expect this on Steam, as Epic Games is handling publishing duties.
