Sony Announces PlayStation “Play at Home” Initiative, Free Games Offered

With the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world, more and more people are being advised to stay at home to help stop the spread of the disease. Video game companies have not only instructed their employees to work from home, but are even offer incentives for doing so too. Sony has today announced the PlayStation Play at Home initiative, and it involves free games!

PlayStation Play at Home free games and indie funding:

Sony is offering Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey for free starting April 15 untl May 5, 2020 at 8 p.m. PDT. Note that you don’t need to be a member of PlayStation Plus, and once you’ve redeemed and download these games, they’re yours to keep.

Aside from the free games, Sony has also earmarked $10 million to help out indie development partners, and mentioned more nfo about the fund, which includes participation criteria will be shared at a later date.

For those not familiar with  Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, it includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception all remastered for the PS4. This is perfect timing as PlayStation Plus members can also download Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for free to round out the complete Uncharted saga.

Needless to say, let’s all maintain proper social distancing and stay at home to help stop the spread of this disease. The faster we nip this, the quicker we can go back to our normal lives.
