Sony Sends Survey Asking PlayStation Gamers About the Switch 2
[summaraize]
Just a few days ago, Nintendo finally blew open the lid on the Switch 2, which is set to be released in June of this year. While Sony is the current market leader this generation of consoles, the Switch 2’s release could change that given Nintendo’s massive fan base, and the brand’s irresistible appeal to gamers young and old.
It looks like Sony is keen to know what gamers think of the Switch 2, as the company has sent an email survey asking gamers just that.
Sony PlayStation Conducting Market Survey on Gamer Intent in Purchasing a Switch 2
The survey sent to gamers was revealed by reliable leaker eXtas1s, who provided the questions via an image. We’ve listed them down in case you’re curious what Sony was asking about alongside the image.
Q1: As you may already know, Nintendo announced that the Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to the Nintendo Switch, is releasing on June 5, 2025 for $449.99 / £395.99.
How interested are you in purchasing the Nintendo Switch 2?
Q2: When thinking about the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 announcements, in what way has your opinion changed, if at all, about the following:
Q3: What aspects of the Nintendo Switch 2 console (as announced on April 2nd) are you most interested in?
- When docked: up to 4K resolution, support for HDR, VR, and frame rates up to 120 fps
- Day-Con 2 Controller features (magnetic attachment and mouse compatibility)
- GameChat using the TV button
- Connect face-to-face with a USB-CGB camera
- High-definition LCD display: 7.3-inch screen, 1080p resolution\
Q4: Below is a list of potential reasons to buy the Nintendo Switch 2.
Please select the top 1-3 motivating factors for you.
- To play upgraded and/or new exclusive games
- To stay engaged with the gaming community
- For the new Mario Kart-themed bundle
- The new features and accessories are exciting
- To upgrade my hardware in general
- I always buy the newest consoles
Q5: What do you think about the Switch 2 pre-order approach? (specified below if you’re not familiar)
Priority registration will be given to registrants who have purchased a Nintendo Switch Online membership with a minimum of 12 months of paid membership and a minimum of 50 total gameplay hours, as of April 2, 2024.
Market surveys like these are normal, so it’s not as if Sony is checking this so they can develop their own version of the Switch 2 . Plus, it’s been rumored that Sony is already working on a PS5 portable device though that’s years away from release.
Of course, with the new tariffs affecting gaming hardware production, Sony has more to worry about than just the competition. Still, you can’t blame Sony for wanting to check on the gaming populace’s pulse when it comes to new hardware.

I have never seen 1 second of a Nintendo Direct since their inception and I have missed nothing lol.
Sony should ask.
Switch “2”. Where on earth could Nintendo have possibly got the idea of sticking a 2 on the end of a console name, even if it means throwing in the towel after 3 decades of AWFUL flop console names because you wouldn’t admit your competitor that kicked your arse since their very first console was correct all along sticking a “2” on it.
Phew. And yet the Switch 2 could still flop like the also stupid expensive Wii U did.
Are you retarded?
Lmao this comment made laugh
