Starfield: Bethesda Pays Tribute to Fallen Community Member In-Game

Starfield how to report bugs and issues feature image

Starfield was announced a long time ago and there are a lot of people who were eagerly waiting to get their hands on the game. However, not all of them were lucky enough to wait for the game’s release, and one of those names was Alex Hay.

Battling Lung Cancer, Alex Hay had extremely limited time. However, that did not stop him from excitedly talk about Starfield. He was one of the biggest Bethesda Fans and had enjoyed all of their work over the years. Starfield was a dream game for him and he wanted to explore its beautiful world.

Unfortunately, he could not make it until the game’s release, as he passed away in March of this year. Just like all fans, Bethesda was disheartened with this news. So, they decided to honor him in the game with a message that somewhat pertains to his final post on the subreddit.

He knew he would not be able to make it to the September release date; nonetheless he wished everyone the best and implored them to explore and enjoy the vast world of Starfield. The game’s message echoes the same as it reads:

“To all my friends and fellow explorers.

I’m Always with you, out there in the Starfield.

Love Always,

Alex Hay”

As heartbreaking as it is to lose a community member, it is at least some consolation to know that they will live on in the game’s world. May his soul rest in peace.

Starfield is out in early access and launches officially on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Game Pass on Wednesday September 6, 2023.
