The Street Fighter 5 Dan moveset trailer has been revealed by Capcom during the first day of their special “Capcom TGS Live 2020” showcase, where the developers talked about upcoming updates and surprises awaiting some of their latest and most anticipated video game titles.

Via the Capcom Channel YouTube Page, here’s the new Dan trailer that shows off how the lovable goofball fighter performs in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition.

Revealed as the first new fighter coming to Season 5 of the game’s new DLC content, Dan Hibiki is a longtime veteran of the Street Fighter series and made his very first appearance in Street Fighter Alpha (aka Street Fighter Zero in Japan). Conceived as a joke character that parodies Capcom’s rival company SNK, Dan actually uses moves that are inspired from fighters Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia from Art of Fighting. His backstory in Street Fighter lore however is a different story — he lost his father Go Hibiki to Sagat and trained under Ryu and Ken’s master Gouken before being dismissed due to his quest for vengeance. Since then he has established his own martial arts style called “Saikyo-Ryu”, and has established his own school to prove his own superiority while also taking in a reluctant Sakura as his student and befriending the Brazilian wild man Blanka (whom he calls by his first name “Jimmy”).

Dan is expected to be released for Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition sometime this Winter 2020.

Don’t forget to check out the upcoming content coming to the game in the new roadmap revealed last month.
