For those who play Take-Two’s games, does the company’s titles offer great value for the price point? Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick seems to think so.

Take-Two is the parent company of Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto), 2K Games (NBA 2K, WWE 2K), and according to their CEO, they aim to deliver “great value at any given time.” This was in response to a question asked during the company’s recent quarterly earnings call Q&A.

In reference to the GTA+ price increase, Zelnick was asked about the company’s rationale and as they look forward to Grand Theft Auto 6, and what the CEO thinks of the pricing dynamics for the GTA franchise and the company’s portfolio as these games get larger with more robust experiences.

There’s more content constantly being made available, and we really aim to deliver great value at any given time, and we’re so focused on delivering more value than what we charge. Every time we establish a price, we want to make sure it’s good news for the consumer; that the experience vastly over-delivers in the context of the cost. That’s the goal. – Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two CEO

Personally, I think the Grand Theft Auto games (and in extension the Red Dead Redemption franchise) do deliver great value in comparison to their cost. I mean, Red Red Redemption 2 and GTA 5 deliver dozens — if not hundreds — of hours of content, and you don’t even need to buy any DLC to experience all that. Of course, this is all subjective, and some gamers might not feel the same way for Take-Two’s other games. For reference, Take-Two is the parent company of Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto), 2K Games (NBA 2K, WWE 2K) and more.

In the same earnings call, Take-Two’s president states that their mandate on microtransactions is to “over-deliver on content” and after that, monetization will follow.

Zelnick also recently confirmed that GTA 6 will be released in Fall 2025.
