Wardogs WD-L018 Error Code Hits Players After Patch 0.1.2, But There’s a Fix
While Wardogs players are eagerly awaiting news regarding Season 2, Bulkhead has released minor game update 0.1.2 to mitigate some issues.
Unfortunately, while player were already seeing error codes before the patch, this hotfix brought in issues of its own. Players have seen an uptick in Wardogs error code WD-L018 ever since the update was rolled out.
If you’re one of the many hit with this issue, there is a fix, which is outlined below.
Wardogs WD-L018 Error Code Fix Is Available
While Bulkhead hasn’t (or can’t) completely patch the error out, there is a fix for the error code “WD-L018-781da176072b.”

Manual Elytra Repair (Anti-Cheat):
Access the Files: In Steam, right-click on WARDOGS > Properties > Installed Files > Explore.
Open the Elytra Folder: Locate the elytra_setup.exe executable.
Run as Admin: Right-click on it and select Run as Administrator.
Click on Repair: Wait for completion and restart your computer.
Verification in Steam:
After restarting, go back to Steam, head to the game’s properties, and click on Verify Integrity of Files.
Exemption in Kaspersky (or Other Antivirus):
If you’re using Kaspersky, it might be blocking the game’s main executable (WardogsClient-Win64-Shipping.exe).
Open Kaspersky > Threats and Exclusions > scroll down to Manage Exclusions.
Add the WardogsClient-Win64-Shipping.exe executable to the exceptions/trusted apps list.
Hopefully, Bulkhead’s next game update will sort this out completely, though if not, at least we know a fix, right?
For console gamers, expect Wardogs on consoles sometime in 2028.
