Revealed during last year’s The Game Awards show, Airship Syndicate is ready to share more details regarding its upcoming action game Wayfinder. The studio confirmed that Wayfinder will target 60 frames-per-second (fps) on consoles and will feature a quality and performance mode.

Speaking in a group Q&A session that MP1st attended, Airship Syndicate’s marketing director, AJ Lasaracina, confirmed that the console version of Wayfinder will have both quality and performance modes and that they also plan to implement PS5’s DualSense features, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

MP1st: Will the PS5 version support Haptics and Adaptive? What’s the target FPS on consoles (PS4, PS5)?

AJ Lasaracina: So we are going to be using those systems on the PlayStation 5 for sure. We don’t have anything to report yet. I don’t think haptic works in the game yet. As far as like the FPS targets on consoles, we are targeting 60 frames a second in performance mode and also to have a quality mode. So we’ll have that.

No doubt players may have already noticed the performance of Wayfinder on PS5 with the beta now available, though the lack of Haptics is probably one many have wondered about. You can now rest easy knowing that Airship Syndicate is planning on rolling out an update to add features for the controller. As for when, that’s anyone’s guess.

Wayfinder is now available to play in beta for the PS5 and PC. Early access will be starting in May for the PS4, PS5, and PC. Once the game has left early access, it’ll be free-to-play, with the studio bringing it over to additional consoles.
